    About Us: Skyhawks Sports Academy partners with local charter schools to provide dynamic afterschool programs that blend sports, mentorship, and youth development. Our mission focuses on teaching life skills through sports, helping children build confidence, teamwork, and leadership while staying active and engaged.

    Position Overview: This part-time role is ideal for college students, aspiring educators, or individuals passionate about working with youth. You’ll lead athletic and academic activities while in a structured, supportive environment.

    Key Dates:

    First Day of School: August 13, 2025

    Back-to-School Training: August 7, 2025 — includes both classroom sessions and hands-on field training (mandatory) Class Room Training - Compass Rose Dream 6660 First Park Ten Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78213 - 9:00am to 12:30pm Hands on-field training - TBD - 2:00pm to 5:00pm

    Interviews: Will be conducted during the following weeks:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supervise and transition scholars between academic and athletic sessions.

    Provide basic homework help and academic support.

    Lead structured daily activities focused on teaching life skills through sports.

    Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.

    Collaborate with fellow coaches to manage the daily program schedule.

    Communicate with parents and apply basic de-escalation techniques.

    Maintain daily inventory of sports equipment.

    Complete brief daily reports summarizing activities and incidents.

    Qualifications:

    Must be at least 18 years old.

    Enthusiastic about working with children.

    Previous experience in coaching, tutoring, education, or youth programs is a plus.

    Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    Dependable and punctual, with availability during scheduled hours.

    Must pass a background check.

    Must have or be willing to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
