Part-Time Art Teacher

Position Overview Carden Christian Academy is seeking a Part-Time Art Teacher to provide structured visual arts instruction for elementary and middle school students. This role cultivates creativity, fine motor development, artistic technique, and visual expression within a faith-based, character-centered learning environment.
The ideal candidate blends classical art foundations with engaging, age-appropriate instruction while fostering discipline, creativity, and confidence.
Key Skills
Visual arts instruction (drawing, painting, mixed media, foundational design)
Classroom management in a structured academic setting
Ability to teach foundational art techniques and art appreciation
Encouragement of creativity within guided instruction
Preparing student artwork for display and school events
Minimum Requirements
Experience in art education, studio art, or related field
Ability to work with elementary and/or middle school students
Minimum of 12 credit hours in Art or related specialty area (preferred)
Availability for 1–2 weekly instructional sessions
Alignment with the school’s Christian mission and values
Responsibilities
Teach weekly art classes using structured lesson plans
Introduce students to foundational techniques (line, color theory, shading, composition, perspective)
Incorporate art history and appreciation elements where appropriate
Guide students through creative projects and skill-building exercises
Prepare artwork for school showcases, chapel displays, or special programs
Maintain an organized and respectful classroom environment
Compensation: $20 – $25 per hour
