Overview: The Breakfast Attendant prepares and maintains the breakfast area, ensuring it is clean, well-stocked, and meets all safety and sanitation standards. General: This role requires strong communication, initiative, and teamwork. The attendant must provide excellent customer service, handle multiple tasks calmly, and demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and reliability. Responsibilities: • Ensure fresh coffee has been made and is available for guests; set up and maintain required beverages, condiments, cups, and glassware • Set up the breakfast buffet and replenish the area with food and beverage items • Set up tables and chairs for breakfast, keep the lobby and kitchen areas clean, neat, and organized, put plastic bags in waste receptacles, and wipe down tables and chairs • Ensure that sufficient breakfast food and supply inventory are available for the breakfast offering • Maintain sanitation and safety standards • Welcome and engage guests in a professional manner with a smile and a warm greeting, and use their last name when known; observe and interact in a helpful manner, and assess their needs • Respond positively to guest inquiries and requests and attempt to resolve complaints • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties • Provide assistance to other employees to ensure a smooth operation of the department and the hotel • Develop a working knowledge of local attractions, business locations, and points of interest to provide accurate information to guests • Clean and break down the breakfast area when breakfast ends • Use the room forecast for the next day’s inventory and bring supplies to the kitchen. Alert the Guest Service Manager when stock needs to be reordered • Opportunity to expand hours assisting the bar in busy evenings, too Qualifications: Additional Information: To apply for this position, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Essential Functions of the Job: • Regular attendance and reporting to work on time, ready to begin your shift, is an essential function of employment (being tardy places an unfair burden on the team) • Ability to work flexible schedules (including weekends, nights, holidays) to meet hotel/guest needs • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing (i.e., use appropriate language, and display proper tone, attitude, and body language when communicating) • Ability to understand and follow instructions as directed by the supervisor/manager • Working safely is a condition of employment. (Fraud, Dishonesty, and False Statements regarding an injury will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination) • Act as a safety and security agent by identifying and reporting potential risks to guests and/or employees to the Manager or General Manager • Arrive to work on time (follow call-out policy), and in the appropriate work attire (uniform, footwear), and neat in appearance • Complete work in a timely manner and meet productivity standards/expectations • Keep the work area clean, neat, and well-organized • Demonstrate a team behavior and attitude of working together effectively to accomplish tasks (even if outside specific job duties) • Seek approval from management prior to working overtime (i.e., punching in early or staying beyond the scheduled shift) • Perform additional duties as assigned Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
