About the Role:
Our client is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, personable Part-Time secretary at a local Vincennes, Indiana church, to manage basic office duties. The secretary will be able to manage daily office operations, support the pastor and church committees, and maintain essential church records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful administrative work in a friendly, faith-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a welcoming face and receptionist of the Church and PreSchool
- Create and distribute monthly Church newsletters
- Keep bulletin board and church calendars updated
- Handle mail and manage office supplies
- Coordinate facility reservations
- Manage maintenance of office equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Assist Pastor with weekly Sunday bulletins and PowerPoint slides
- Answer phones, take messages, and handle day-to-day communications
- Support special projects and annual reports
- Maintain membership records
- Enter financial contributions into computer database
- Maintain memorial donation records
- Generate and mail giving statements
- Schedule committee mtgs and send reminders
- Prepare church board reports and packets
- Compile and distribute materials for the Annual Congregational Meeting
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required (post-secondary certification a plus)
- Prior office management or administrative experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with computers, PowerPoint, Publisher, and basic data entry
- Friendly, discreet, and organized
- Experience in a church setting or non-profit is helpful, but not required
