Job Summary
The Heart Institute of Venice is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Corporate Counsel to support our organization with judgment enforcement, collections strategy, commercial legal matters, and general corporate legal guidance. This is a part-time remote role ideal for a Florida-licensed attorney with strong experience in civil judgments, post-judgment remedies, contracts, and business law.
The selected candidate will work closely with leadership and operations teams to protect the organization’s legal interests, improve recovery efforts, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Judgment Enforcement & Collections
Develop and execute legal strategies for enforcement of civil judgments
Handle post-judgment remedies including garnishments, levies, liens, and asset discovery
Coordinate with courts, agencies, and third parties to maximize recovery
Draft and file motions, writs, and enforcement pleadings
Manage negotiations and settlements
Corporate & Commercial Counsel
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and service agreements
Provide legal guidance on business transactions and risk mitigation
Ensure regulatory compliance with Florida and federal laws
Advise leadership on legal exposure and best practices
Assist with dispute resolution and pre-litigation matters
Provide general corporate governance support
Compliance & Advisory
Maintain legal documentation and policies
Support internal compliance initiatives
Provide training or guidance to management when needed
Qualifications
Required
Active Florida State Bar License (in good standing)
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in judgment enforcement, collections law, or commercial litigation
Strong knowledge of Florida civil procedure and post-judgment remedies
Experience drafting and negotiating contracts
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Excellent legal writing and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with healthcare or medical practice legal matters
Corporate in-house counsel experience
Familiarity with debt recovery strategy and asset investigations
