Position Summary
The Day Treatment Group Facilitator provides structured, therapeutic, and skills‑building group services for youth enrolled in the Day Treatment Program. The facilitator helps maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma‑informed environment while implementing evidence‑based curricula, supporting behavioral regulation, and promoting social‑emotional development. This role works in collaboration with clinical, educational, and support staff to ensure consistent program delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate daily therapeutic, psychoeducational, and skills‑based groups following approved curricula and treatment plans.
Maintain a structured and supportive environment that promotes emotional regulation and safety.
Support youth in developing coping skills, communication skills, and prosocial behavior.
Implement trauma‑informed strategies and adhere to behavior intervention plans as assigned.
Accurately complete attendance, group notes, and other required documentation according to agency, regulatory, and payer standards.
Report client progress, concerns, or significant incidents to clinical and administrative leadership in a timely manner.
Assist in crisis‑prevention and de‑escalation using approved techniques.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and required supervision.
Support daily programming needs including incentives, supplies, and reinforcement systems.
Uphold agency policies, ethical standards, and state regulations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Education).
Experience working with youth in behavioral health, education, or social services strongly preferred.
Strong communication, rapport‑building, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis or challenging situations.
Understanding of trauma‑informed care principles preferred.
Must pass all background checks and meet compliance requirements.
