If you want a steady, part-time role in a thriving, mission-driven firm, this may be a great fit. Toland Law is an estate planning, probate, and elder law practice in Hamden, Connecticut. We are seeking a part-time Paralegal (15–20 hours per week) to support our probate and estate planning practice. This role is primarily in-office, with some flexibility for remote work once trained. You will work directly with the attorney to: • prepare probate and estate planning documents • manage filings and deadlines • communicate with clients • keep matters moving smoothly from start to finish This is a long-term role for someone who enjoys being part of a small, collaborative firm. Responsibilities: What You’ll Do • Draft probate documents and reports for attorney review • Prepare initial drafts of estate planning documents (wills, trusts, POAs, etc.) • File documents with probate courts and government agencies • Track court notices, deadlines, and required follow-ups • Draft routine client correspondence using firm templates • Communicate with clients to gather information and documents • Maintain organized electronic and physical files • Help ensure clients feel supported and informed throughout the process Qualifications: What We’re Looking For • Prior experience in estate planning and/or probate • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Compassionate and professional with clients Compensation: $24 - $30 hourly based on experience
