    Position Overview

    The Dog Chateau is seeking a reliable, hands-on Part-Time Facility Maintenance & Landscaping Manager to help maintain and enhance our beautiful 11-acre property and 5,000-square-foot indoor facility. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pups, clients, and team.

    This individual will be responsible for both indoor facility upkeep and outdoor landscaping, with a strong focus on safety, overall appearance of the property, and proactive maintenance. This includes keeping all areas well-maintained, visually clean, and reflective of the high standards our clients expect.

    Key Responsibilities

    Facility Maintenance

    Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the indoor facility, including:

    Flooring, walls, doors, and fixtures

    Plumbing, painting, and trim work repairs

    HVAC filter changes and monitoring

    Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs

    Ensure all boarding suites, play areas, and common spaces are in excellent condition

    Support cleanliness standards alongside the care team when needed

    Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when necessary

    Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance

    Maintain the 11-acre outdoor property, including:

    Mowing, trimming, and seasonal landscaping

    Trail upkeep and clearing

    Fence inspections and repairs to ensure safety and containment

    Maintain and service landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers and tools (routine upkeep, cleaning, and basic repairs)

    Manage seasonal tasks such as:

    Leaf cleanup

    Spring and fall property preparation

    Ensure outdoor play areas remain safe, clean, and visually appealing

    Safety & Operations

    Monitor property conditions to ensure a safe environment for dogs and staff

    Immediately address hazards (e.g., damaged fencing, debris, unsafe surfaces)

    Assist in maintaining compliance with local regulations and safety standards

    Support facility improvement projects as The Dog Chateau continues to grow and invest in upgrades

    Qualifications

    Previous experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or a similar hands-on role

    Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, trim work, and general repair work

    Experience operating landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.)

    Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

    Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds (with occasional heavier lifting as needed)

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time

    Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

    Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including manual labor and equipment operation

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working on large properties or outdoor facilities

    Familiarity with animal care environments (not required, but a plus)

    General handyman or trade certifications
