Part Time Live-in Family Assistant / Cook / Dog Walker in Novato, CA

Compensation: $40 per hour

Start date: Mid June

Schedule: 10 hours per week

Housing: Private One-Bedroom, One-Bath Apartment on the property ($800/month for rent) (pictures provided upon request)

A private family in Novato, CA, is seeking a live-in Family Assistant to provide household support, meal preparation, and dog care. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, detail-oriented, and flexible, with a strong sense of responsibility. This role requires someone who can assist with daily household tasks, cook meals, and care for the family’s small dog while maintaining a well-organized and supportive home environment.

• Cooking: Prepare lunch and dinner 3-4 days per week (preference for sophisticated cooking)
• Dog Care: Walk and care for a small, friendly 3-year-old beagle mix (must be walked on the property)
• Household Assistance: General household support as needed (specific duties to be determined)
• Coordination: May assist with managing household maintenance, landscapers, and pool staff
• Security & Presence: Family prefers having someone on the property for added reassurance
• The family is away for 4 months out of the year, candidate would stay and take care of the dog.

• Some flexibility required based on household needs

• Must be punctual, reliable, and highly trustworthy
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable cooking simple but well-prepared meals
• Experience with pet care, especially dogs
• Flexibility in daily responsibilities and willingness to adapt to the family’s needs
• Prior experience in a similar live-in personal assistant or household role is a plus
• Provide 3-5 professional references
• Must have a valid drivers license and vehicle

• Must have US work authorization
