Part -Time Family Assistant for a Family in the Eastover/Myers Park Area
Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Eastover/Myers Park area in finding a Part-Time Family Assistant for their household and two children, ages 12 and 10 years old. The Family Assistant would typically be needed Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm (guaranteed 20 hours). The ideal Family Assistant should be flexible and able to provide occasional overnights when the mother or father travels, as well as additional hours as needed, including during school breaks and summer vacation.
The best Family Assistant would be warm, organized, and proactive, with strong communication skills and the have the confidence to take initiative in daily routines.
This position alternates weekly between two households located about a mile apart, as the children split time between both working parents. Working primarily with middle school–aged children, the Family Assistant should be active, relatable, and able to build positive connections with older kids. The Family Assistant will be responsible for picking the children up from the bus stop in the afternoon, ensuring they are prepared for the following day, and managing their after-school schedule. This includes driving them to sports practices, friends’ houses, and other activities, checking that activity bags are packed, overseeing that homework is completed, and preparing dinner for the children. Light household tasks such as children’s laundry, keeping their spaces tidy, occasional family meal prep, and general errands are included, along with encouraging independence by having the children clean up after themselves.
Strong communication with the children’s teachers, coaches, friends’ parents, and other adults in their circle is essential, as the nanny will often handle coordination. Mom has a dog that will need to be taken on short daily walks, even on weeks the children are at Dad’s house. The Family Assistant will also be asked to pet sit when Mom travels. Reliability, time management, and the ability to run the household routine smoothly and independently are key.
Nanny Responsibilities Include:
Meeting the daily scheduling needs of the children
Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level
Playing with the children both inside and outside the home
Overseeing that homework is complete
Provide transportation to and from activities
Household Duties Include (Children are first priority):
Children’s laundry and changing children’s sheets weekly
Meal prep, including children’s dinner and occasional meal prep for Mom/Dad
Unloading/loading the dishwasher
Picking up after the nanny and the child throughout the day, while encouraging the children to clean up after themselves.
Grocery shopping
Picking up dry cleaning
General errand, including picking up gifts for birthday parties, school supplies, etc
Pets:
The family has a 14-year-old hypoallergenic dog and a 3-year-old cat. The family assistant will be asked to take the dog on a short walk each day and make sure both animals are fed.
Qualifications:
Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience
Have a college degree or equivalent experience
Have a professional resume

Have safe and reliable transportation
