The Transtec Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Field Test Technician to join our team. As a Field Test Technician, you will be responsible for conducting testing and evaluation of pavements in real-world conditions to ensure quality, performance, and reliability. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in some unique environments while contributing to the development and improvement of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field tests and evaluations of pavement surfaces in various environments, following established testing protocols and safety guidelines.
- Compile, analyze, and report on test data, documenting findings and recommending improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to understand testing objectives and methodologies and help develop new methods.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during testing.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of testing equipment and tools.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, observations, and incident reports.
- Provide feedback on product design and functionality based on field test experiences.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations to communicate test results to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and practices related to field testing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in a testing, engineering, or technical role preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using testing equipment and software.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and various measurement systems.
- Willingness to travel to various field test locations as required, potentially cross country.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position with flexible hours, and candidates should be available to work evenings or weekends as needed based on testing schedules.
Compensation:
Pay Range $25 - $30 Hourly, Rate Based on Experience.
