The Learning Experience of Middletown is seeking an experienced, dependable, and adaptable Part-Time Floating Assistant Teacher to support multiple classrooms each afternoon.

This is not a substitute position. This is a consistent, structured role requiring professionalism, flexibility, and confidence across age groups.

Our Floating Assistant supports Infants all the way to Preschool classrooms during the busy afternoon hours, helping maintain structure, supervision, and smooth transitions.

Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed daycare center

Experience working with multiple age groups (toddlers and/or preschool)

Strong understanding of classroom routines and child development

Only applicants with verifiable daycare experience will be considered.

    What This Role Requires

Is comfortable moving between classrooms based on daily needs

Can quickly adapt to different teaching styles and routines

Walks into a classroom and immediately contributes

Helps children feel safe, supported, and comfortable

    Key Responsibilities

Support Lead Teachers in all classrooms

Assist with transitions, dismissal routines, and classroom management

    Maintain safety and ratio compliance

Help keep classrooms clean and organized

Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities

Provide nurturing, positive interactions throughout the day

    Professional in communication and demeanor

    Passionate about early childhood development

Our center is growing, and we are building a team of educators who are serious about their work and committed to maintaining high standards.

If you are an experienced early childhood professional who can confidently support multiple classrooms and commit to a Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–6:00 PM schedule, we encourage you to apply.
