About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and friendly Part-Time Front Desk Assistant to support our busy internal medicine clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays , which are our highest-volume days.
This role is designed to support our Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist by helping manage the increased workload that comes with scheduling for four providers. The Part-Time Assistant will work under the guidance of our Clinic Operations & Patient Experience Coordinator and collaborate closely with the front desk team to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Check-In / Check-Out
- Greet patients warmly and provide a professional first impression
- Manage check-in and check-out workflows
- Update patient demographics and verify insurance
Scheduling Support
- Assist with appointment scheduling for four providers
- Help maintain an organized and efficient multi-provider schedule
Communication Management
- Monitor and respond to:
- Elation Passport portal messages
- Curogram messages
- Route messages appropriately and in a timely manner
Administrative Support
- Check patient eligibility
- Assist with daily batches and administrative workflows
- Support phone coverage
- Share front desk responsibilities to maintain smooth workflow and timely service
How This Role Supports the Clinic
This position is intended to provide direct support to our Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist , by:
- Helping manage the scheduling workload across four providers
- Assisting with phone coverage and patient messages
- Ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes
- Improving responsiveness to portal and Curogram messages
- Supporting communication and administrative tasks
- Providing seamless patient service on our highest-volume clinic days
The Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist will continue to serve as the primary front desk receptionist. The Part-Time Assistant will work under her direction while also coordinating with the Clinic Operations & Patient Experience Coordinator to ensure aligned workflows and smooth patient flow.
Qualifications
- Medical front desk experience preferred (but not required)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Comfort using electronic health records (Elation experience is a plus)
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Schedule
- Tuesdays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursdays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Future additional hours may be available as the clinic grows.)
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
