✨ What You’ll Be Doing

👶 Classroom Care & Learning

Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment

Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands-on discovery

Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities (Lead Teachers)

🧡 Family & Community Connections

Build warm, trusting relationships with families

Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity

Partner with families to support children's development

👩‍🏫 Teamwork & Collaboration

Work closely with co-teachers and directors to uphold schoolwide expectations

Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines

Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

📚 Curriculum & Assessment (Lead Teachers)

Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines

Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports

Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness

📝 Qualifications

Assistant Teachers - Educational Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience working with children preferred

Ability to support a play-based curriculum and engage actively with children

Lead Teachers - Educational Qualifications A CDA or Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!) or A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.

All Roles Require

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Passion for early childhood education and a love of learning through play
