Part-Time In-Home Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant
We are looking for a kind, dependable, and attentive caregiver to provide one-on-one care for an adult woman in her private home in Lake Forest.
She requires full assistance with her daily care and is unable to independently walk, transfer, reposition herself, or complete activities of daily living. A Hoyer lift is used for transfers between her bed, chair, and other appropriate areas.
This is a hands-on caregiving position, but we are equally looking for someone who will treat her with patience, dignity, warmth, and genuine care. Comfort, companionship, and quality of life are very important to our family.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
Providing toileting and incontinence care, including changing briefs as needed
Assisting with meals and feeding
Safely assisting with transfers using a Hoyer lift
Helping with repositioning and maintaining her comfort throughout the day
Following her established daily care routine and family instructions
Assisting with scheduled supplements and other routine care needs as directed
Providing companionship and meaningful interaction
Putting on movies, television, music, and other entertainment she enjoys
Paying attention to her comfort and general well-being throughout the shift
Keeping her immediate care and living areas clean, sanitary, and organized
Communicating with the family about her day and any changes or concerns
Assisting with other reasonable tasks related to her daily care and comfort
We are looking for someone who is:
Compassionate, patient, gentle, and attentive
Dependable and punctual
Comfortable providing hands-on and intimate personal care
Comfortable caring for someone who is fully dependent on others for daily needs
Physically able to assist with repositioning and personal care
Experienced with a Hoyer lift or willing to be trained in its safe use
Able to follow instructions and an established routine consistently
Observant and comfortable communicating any changes or concerns to the family
Respectful of her dignity, privacy, and the family's home
Calm, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently
Previous caregiving, personal care assistant, CNA, HHA, nursing assistant, disability-care, or similar experience is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification are a plus.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with varying hours. Days and hours may vary depending on the family's caregiving needs, so some flexibility is appreciated. Specific availability and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation
$18–$19 per hour, depending on experience.
Location
Private residence in Lake Forest, CA 92630. The exact home address will be provided to selected candidates later in the interview/hiring process for privacy and safety.
About the Role
We are hoping to find someone who can become a dependable part of her care team. She relies on the people around her not only for her physical care, but also for her comfort and quality of life. We value someone who will interact with her, keep her comfortable and entertained, notice the little things, and care for her with patience and respect.
