Part Time Maintenance Technician/Porter (Second Shift)

Position Summary: The Central Falls Housing Authority is seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Second Shift Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and safety of our residential properties. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who can work independently, respond to resident needs, and ensure that facilities are maintained to high standards during second shift hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to and complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
Perform routine maintenance and repairs in residential units and common areas
Handle lockouts and assist residents with access issues as needed
Participate in and complete special projects as assigned
Conduct basic inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and supervisors
Daily cleaning of facilities and grounds
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a multifamily residential or commercial setting required
Strong working knowledge of general maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during shift hours
Valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as needed
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Additional Information: This is a part-time position with consistent weekday evening hours. The role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality and safety of housing for residents of the Central Falls Housing community.
