Makery Associate (Part-Time)
Buff City Soap is on a mission to create fresh, handmade products that are free of harsh ingredients and full of nourishing plant-based goodness. Unlike traditional retailers, we don’t just sell our products—we make them right in our Makery every day.
We’re looking for energetic, guest-focused Makery Associates who love working with people, creating products, and being part of a fun, fast-paced team. This is a hands-on role that blends retail, sales, production, and guest experience.
What You’ll Do
Create an Exceptional Guest Experience
Greet and engage every guest upon arrival.
Provide excellent customer service and ensure each guest feels welcomed and valued.
Build relationships with guests by understanding their needs and recommending the right products.
Confidently make product recommendations and help drive sales.
Support a positive, upbeat, and fun store environment.
Support Production & Fulfillment
Assist with the production of handmade products including bath bombs, fizzes, scrubs, butters, and other Makery items.
Label, shrink wrap, stock, and prepare products and sample kits.
Maintain products according to inventory levels.
Ensure all finished products meet company quality standards.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness requirements.
Keep the Makery Running Smoothly
Multitask in a fast-paced environment while balancing production, guest engagement, and daily tasks.
Assist with maintaining cleanliness throughout the production and retail areas.
Stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Work cohesively with the team while following company policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Retail sales or customer service experience preferred.
Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with guests.
Ability to work in an upbeat, fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and stay organized.
Dependable, positive, and willing to jump in where needed.
Day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability preferred.
Physical Requirements
This is an active role that involves both retail and production responsibilities.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift or assist in lifting boxes and supplies up to 50 pounds (repeatedly).
Comfortable working around various scents and fragrances.
Dexterity of hands and fingers.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance.
Ability to assist with cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and general Makery maintenance.

Pay: Starting at $12.00 per hour
Schedule: Day shifts, evening shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed
