    Job Overview: Above and Beyond Free Food Pantry is seeking a dependable, flexible, and mission aligned part-time driver to support our food rescue operations. This role serves as a backup to our two full-time drivers, helping cover scheduled time off, sick days, and special partner requests. The position requires availability on an as-needed basis with a varying schedule, including some mornings and Saturdays.

    This driver will operate both a refrigerated van and a 15’ refrigerated box truck to transport food, supplies, and donations between our local partners and our food pantry. Candidates must be comfortable working independently, performing physically demanding tasks, and adapting quickly to changing plans.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operate a refrigerated van and 15’ refrigerated box truck to pick up and deliver food and supplies.

    Cover shifts when full-time drivers are unavailable or when special transportation needs arise.

    Load and unload food and supplies, ensuring safe and secure handling.

    Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

    Maintain delivery logs and mileage records.

    Follow food safety and sanitation protocols during transport.

    Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with donors and community partners.

    Represent Above and Beyond Free Food Pantry positively in all interactions.

    Assist with organizing pantry storage and supporting pantry operations, as needed.

    Adhere to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and organizational policies.

    Qualifications:

    Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    Experience driving a van and 15’ box truck preferred.

    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    Dependable, self-directed, and able to quickly adapt to schedule changes.

    Strong communication and customer service skills.

    Flexibility and availability to work variable hours and respond to last-minute requests.

    Commitment to the mission of Above and Beyond Free Food Pantry.

    Must be willing to undergo random drug testing.

    Work Environment:

    Work is performed in and out of a vehicle, including in various weather conditions.

    Shifts begin as early as 7:00 AM and may include Saturdays.

    Position involves moderate to heavy physical labor.
