Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Pharmacist to support our 503A Retail/Compounding Pharmacy in Albuquerque, NM. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and effective preparation, verification, and dispensing of compounded and retail medications. The ideal candidate brings experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of pharmacy regulations and best practices. Working Conditions: • Work is performed in a retail/compounding pharmacy setting with potential exposure to hazardous drugs (per USP <800> protocols). • Requires standing, walking, and repetitive tasks for extended periods. • May involve flexible shifts during weekdays based on pharmacy needs. Responsibilities: • Accurately verify and dispense compounded and retail prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations. • Oversee and ensure adherence to USP <795>, <797>, <800>, DEA, and NM Board of Pharmacy standards. • Provide clinical support and guidance to pharmacy technicians, ensuring quality and accuracy in all compounded preparations. • Counsel patients and healthcare providers on proper medication usage, interactions, and side effects. • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all compounding and dispensing activities. • Assist with quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts to ensure the highest level of patient care and compliance. • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure the availability of necessary ingredients and products. • Support inspections, audits, and ongoing regulatory compliance activities. • Collaborate with pharmacy and business leadership to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Qualifications: • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy. • Current and unrestricted New Mexico Pharmacist license (required). • Prior experience in sterile or non-sterile compounding (required). • Familiarity with USP compounding standards, DEA regulations, and state pharmacy laws. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with compounding pharmacy software is a plus.
