    Compensation: $28–$35/hour
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    Guaranteed Hours: 20 

    Overview / About the Family:
    A busy and welcoming family in San Jose is seeking a dedicated and proactive Tutor/Nanny to primarily support their 13-year-old son with academic guidance and daily structure. The family has three children (ages 13, 11, and 8) and values consistency, patience, and a supportive presence in the home. Both parents work outside the home and are looking for a trusted professional who can step in during the afternoons to help their oldest child stay on track academically and build confidence. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring and making a meaningful impact.

    Responsibilities:

    \- Support development of executive functioning skills, including planning, time management, task initiation, emotional regulation, and strategies to manage impulsiveness
    \- Provide consistent academic support and tutoring for a 13-year-old with ADHD, including helping him stay organized, on task, and engaged with schoolwork
    \- Communicate with teachers as needed to stay aligned on assignments and progress
    \- Assist with homework completion and reinforce positive study habits
    \- Help manage after-school routines, including transitions to extracurricular activities such as sports
    \- Provide light household support prior to children arriving home, including laundry, meal prep, and occasional grocery shopping
    \- Create a structured, encouraging, and calm environment, particularly during challenging academic moments
    \- Foster a positive relationship and encourage social confidence and independence

    Requirements:
    \- Prior experience working with school-aged children, preferably with ADHD or similar learning differences
    \- Strong academic support and tutoring skills
    \- Patient, calm, and emotionally intelligent approach to childcare
    \- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

    \- Ability to provide 3-5 professional references
    \- Ability to manage afternoon routines independently
    - Comfortable around a friendly, energetic dog
