Overview

Waxing the City Mosaic District is looking for a creative, organized, and social-savvy Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to help grow our local presence and keep our community engaged. This role supports the studio’s day-to-day social media efforts by scheduling content, gathering studio visuals, tracking performance, and staying on top of trends. It’s a great fit for someone who loves beauty, skincare, and creating content that feels fresh, fun, and on-brand.

What You’ll Do Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with the daily management of our social channels (primarily Instagram, TikTok, Facebook; occasional support for YouTube/Google Business).

Draft, schedule, and publish posts aligned with studio promotions, seasonal campaigns, and brand guidelines.

Maintain and update a local content calendar to ensure timely posting and campaign consistency.

Capture and organize in-studio content (before/after shots, behind-the-scenes, team moments, client-safe visuals, events, etc.).

Monitor comments, DMs, tags, and local engagement opportunities; escalate client-service items to studio leadership when needed.

Stay current on platform trends, audio, and best practices to bring new ideas to the studio.

Support creation of simple graphics, Reels, TikToks, and short-form video content.

Track social performance and provide brief weekly/monthly insights (growth, engagement, top posts, campaign highlights).

Assist with live or in-studio events by capturing real-time content and helping post updates.

Provide light administrative support related to marketing assets and file organization.

What We’re Looking For

1+ year of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing (internships, freelance, or campus experience welcome).

Strong writing skills and a good eye for tone, visuals, and brand consistency.

Comfortable creating and editing short-form video (TikTok/Reels/Shorts).

Basic design and editing skills using tools like Canva or Adobe apps (or similar).

Familiarity with scheduling tools (SOCi, Later, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.).

Ability to spot trends quickly and apply them in a way that fits a beauty/skincare brand.

Organized, dependable, and able to manage deadlines independently.

Friendly, professional communication style; comfortable working around guests in a studio setting.

Interest in beauty, skincare, waxing services, or local lifestyle content is a big plus.

Schedule & Work Environment

Part-time position, typically 5–10 hours per week (flexible within studio needs).

Some evening/weekend availability may be requested to support promotions or events.

Work is primarily on-site at Mosaic District with some remote scheduling/reporting flexibility.

Studio environment: indoor retail/service space with moderate noise and frequent interaction with team members and guests.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally for event or studio materials.
