ABOUT THE ROLE Job Summary: The Part Time Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for the Experience Corps program, seasonal volunteers, and supporting administrative tasks. The coordinator will ensure volunteers are effectively placed within the organization and provide ongoing support and communication to maximize the impact of their work. This role also involves coordinating volunteer schedules, maintaining records, and assisting with general office administration as needed. This is an on-site role at our office in Remington (21211) and local travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers for the Experience Corps program.
Develop and implement a volunteer orientation and training program.
Match volunteers with appropriate roles based on skills, interests, and organizational needs.
Monitor volunteer performance and provide ongoing support and feedback.
Maintain accurate volunteer records, including applications, training materials, schedules, and feedback.
Plan and execute volunteer recognition activities and events.
Act as the primary point of contact for all volunteer inquiries and communications.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in scheduling meetings, workshops, and training sessions for volunteers.
Maintain and update volunteer databases and tracking systems.
Prepare reports on volunteer activities and performance metrics for leadership.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth integration of volunteers into daily operations.
Manage office communications, including emails and phone calls, related to volunteer activities.
Support general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing (may be digital and/or paper), and preparing documents for presentations or meetings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
A certain degree of familiarity and comfort with Baltimore City is preferred.
Previous experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or administrative roles.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and volunteer management software.
Experience with database management and entry software.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and multitask.
Experience working with older adult volunteers, and in an educational setting is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to engage and motivate a diverse group of volunteers.
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for community service and education.
Work Schedule:
20-25 hours per week, with some flexibility for occasional evening or weekend activities as required by the program.
Travel: Local travel may be needed to/from our office in Remington to/from a school site or other location in Baltimore City.
Compensation: $23/hour
