ABOUT THE ROLE:
Position: Part-time After School Learning Coaches needed for Elev8
Position Summary:
Reports to: Extended Learning Coordinator
Job Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary
Status: Part-time
Compensation:
$18.50/hr for 36-40 hours/week for about 8 weeks.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and break down his/her classroom space, including securing and organizing the appropriate materials.
• Collaborate with staff to establish and maintain a supportive and structured environment for the youth entrusted to their care.
• Assist with the distribution and cleanup of snacks, lunch (summer only), and dinner meals.
• Plan and conduct academic enrichment time for a group of 15-20 students during after-school hours.
• Serve as a facilitator of after-school and summer program activities, as well as other special events, including chaperoning field trips hosted during program hours.
• Provide classroom management support during recreational, arts, and developmental activities for youth.
• Collaborate with athletic, social, and cultural enrichment partners to implement after-school and/or summer activities.
• Complete required documentation, including attendance rosters
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities, including national training, if applicable, to support program improvement and staff development
• Perform other duties as assigned
Communication And Documentation
• Establish and maintain open communication with school staff members regarding student progress and program aspects.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain all required documentation, including, but not limited to, enrollment forms, case notes, daily attendance, formative and summative assessments, participant surveys, student snapshots, etc., in alignment with grant and organizational standards.
• Provide verbal and written reports as needed to manager(s).
Agency/Team Cohesion
• Responsible for facilitating and attending mandatory departmental meetings.
• Attend agency meetings and events.
• Complete required training on time.
• Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures.
• Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with the supervisor.
• Uphold organization values related to race, equity, and liberation of people and communities of color.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma required; At least one year of college in related field a plus; Able to lead and participate in group sports and recreation; Experience in developing group lesson plans or integrated learning activities; Must commit to working with youth from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective; Exhibit positive attitude; model a mature and professional demeanor; Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ethics of good character, humility, and servant leadership; Authorization for background check for criminal and child protective findings. Proof of complete vaccination must be presented by the hire date.
