    At Appalachian Community Services, we are looking for compassionate and skilled Part-time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team.

    As a BHUC LPN, you will provide essential crisis care, assist individuals through critical moments, and deliver client-centered, solution-focused nursing support. If you’re ready to make a difference in behavioral health crisis care, we’re ready for you!

    • Part-Time Positions: Day & Night Shift.

    As a BHUC LPN, you will:

    • Conduct telephonic screenings to assess appropriateness for admission.
    • Perform nursing screenings upon arrival, including pregnancy tests, urine drug screens, and breathalyzers.
    • Collaborate with prescribers to review clinical information and determine medication needs or alternative care options.
    • Prepare, administer, and monitor prescribed medications.
    • Provide ongoing medical oversight throughout an individual’s stay.

    Compensation

    This position is a fixed rate, with compensation aligned to role responsibilities, experience, and contract parameters.

    • Compensation: $28.84

    What You Can Expect

    • Provide crisis care and support to individuals in behavioral health emergencies.
    • Complete admission screenings and basic medical assessments.
    • Work with providers to help determine treatment and medication needs.
    • Administer medications and monitor clients throughout their stay.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct admission and nursing screenings for incoming clients.
    • Administer and monitor prescribed medications.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to support client care plans.
    • Provide ongoing nursing care and crisis support during client stays.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Graduated from an Approved Nursing Program
    • Active LPN Licensure through the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and crisis intervention.
    • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a crisis setting.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within the BHUC team.
