Job Description

Over the course of this 8-week program, selected interns will be immersed in the property & casualty reinsurance industry.  Interns are entrusted to work on business activities and projects that will have an impact on PartnerRe underwriting. The program will involve both educational and project-based components. Educational sessions will cover Actuarial, Treaty and Facultative Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Accounting, and Catastrophe Modeling. Interns can anticipate not only gaining a broad understanding of the (re)insurance industry, but also starting to develop or refine key skills essential for a successful professional career, including personal time management, business etiquette, presentation skills, networking opportunities and exposure to senior management. 

Qualifications

We are looking for well-rounded, energetic, and talented students who possess the following criteria:

• Incoming sophomore or junior currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (above 3.0 GPA preferred)
• Majors in risk management, actuarial science, mathematics, economics, accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. 
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Experience in conducting research;
• Analytically minded; 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Interested in learning about business operations in reinsurance and risk management; 
• A copy of the your most recent University transcript will be required.
