Job Description

INTERNSHIP SCHEDULE:

Internship requires candidate to participate in both the Summer and Fall term which will be based out of our Stamford, Ct Office.

• Summer term will be full time: 
  • M-F 9:00 am to 5:00pm, with a one hour lunch break
  • 8 weeks (June 5th – July 28th)
• Fall term will be Part Time
  • 16 – 25 hours per week during school year depending on applicant’s schedule
  • 10 weeks (October 9th – December 15th)
• Remote/Hybrid work arrangement possible

YOUR ROLE:

• Learn fundamental concepts of insurance and reinsurance in Property & Casualty business.
• Handle Reinsurance pricing tools.
• Perform tasks related to data preparation, formatting, rework, analysis and/or comparison.
• Conduct pricing pre-analysis and work with the pricing actuaries and underwriters.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU: •    Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program with a minimum GPA 3.0 •    Since the insurance industry offers complex, dynamic, and exciting positions, we welcome candidates who have various majors, backgrounds, and experiences.  We are most interested in students who are serious about entering the Insurance industry and those majoring in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Risk Management or similar disciplines. •    Keen to learn and pay attention to detail.   •    Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Excel •    Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task •    Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed •    Highly collaborative and versatile, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team •    Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
