Program Instructor

Program Instructors work with approximately 3 adults with developmental disabilities, transporting the clients to various locations in their communities - we believe that training should be done in real life settings. Instructors teach in the areas of daily life skills, public transportation, community safety, job skills and more. Location: Santa Clarita Valley, Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley Approximately 30 hours per week M-F with some afternoon meetings. Responsibilities and Duties - Provide direct client supervision, support, training and behavior intervention at the work/school site and in the community; - Transport and accompany clients to work and community sites; - Act as a public relations representative of Partners at the job site and in the community; - Identify training goals and objectives for clients; - Collect data and complete the required paperwork; - Document clients' activities and assist with preparing progress reports; - Document all scheduled locations and completed activities and submit as required; - Participate in client assessment, planning and evaluation process; - Attend staff and client related meetings; - Participate in monthly in-service training and outside trainings as needed; - Assist fellow employees with transport and supervision of clients as needed/assigned; - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills - Excellent English communication skills. - Bilingual in another language preferred but not required. - Must have HS Diploma, valid driver license, reliable car and insurance; good driving record and obtain fingerprints for a criminal background check. - Must have patience, motivation, creativity and ability to work as a team. Some teaching or related experience preferred. - This is a very rewarding job that requires patience, motivation, a positive attitude and teamwork. - Previous experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
