What You'll Do
Partnership Accounting & Financial Operations
- Support partner compensation accounting, including reconciliations, allocations, and distributions
- Manage partner capital accounts and help administer partner loan programs
- Prepare and review journal entries, partner reporting, and related financial analyses
- Oversee financial aspects of partner programs, including insurance and expatriate expense review
- Partner with international offices to support global partnership operations
Tax Compliance & Coordination
- Oversee multi-state withholding and filing requirements, including California withholding and waiver processes
- Manage SALT compliance across jurisdictions, including periodic filings and annual reconciliations
- Support PTET elections and group filings in coordination with external advisors
- Coordinate federal tax compliance for non-U.S. partners and jurisdictional exemption processes
Analytical Reporting & Regulatory Support
- Analyze nondeductible expenses and partner-level allocations
- Oversee FBAR/FATCA reporting for partners and designated staff
- Ensure on-time compliance across multiple jurisdictions and time zones
Foundation & Special Projects
- Maintain accounting and reporting for the firm's charitable foundation
- Prepare committee-level reporting and coordinate annual tax filings
- Lead ad hoc partnership accounting and tax initiatives as opportunities arise
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–5+ years of partnership accounting experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment
- Working knowledge of partnership taxation and multi-state compliance
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with legal accounting systems such as Aderant Expert or Elite 3E
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines with ease
- A high level of discretion, precision, and pride in your attention to detail
