Position Summary
The Parts Picker is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing parts for production or shipment according to work orders and inventory requests. This role also includes receiving, organizing, and putting away parts in their designated storage locations to maintain an orderly and efficient inventory system.
Key Responsibilities
· Pick parts accurately and efficiently based on work orders, job tickets, or production schedules.
· Verify part numbers, quantities, and descriptions to ensure accuracy of orders.
· Stage picked parts for production or delivery according to established procedures.
· Receive incoming parts shipments, inspect for damage or discrepancies, and report issues to the supervisor.
· Put away received parts in designated storage locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
· Maintain inventory accuracy by following established stocking and picking procedures.
· Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counts.
· Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
· Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, forklifts if certified) in a safe manner.
· Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous experience in parts picking, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to read and interpret work orders, part numbers, and inventory documents.
· Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
· Basic computer skills for inventory entry and order tracking.
· Physical ability to lift up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs.] and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Working Conditions
· Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
· Requires standing and walking for most of the shift.
· Must be able to lift, carry, and move items as required.
