Job Description
The Pastry Cook 2 supports pastry production and service by prepping ingredients, assisting in the execution of recipes, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This entry-to-mid-level role is ideal for candidates looking to grow in a structured, creative, and high-performance pastry team.
This full-time position has an hourly rate of $30.00 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scale and prepare ingredients for desserts, breads, and baked goods as directed
Assist in assembly and plating of desserts during service
Follow recipes and plating guides with accuracy and attention to detail
Maintain cleanliness of tools, prep areas, and pastry storage throughout shift
Label, date, and store all items in accordance with kitchen protocols
Support daily mise en place and assist with banquet or special event prep as needed
Qualifications
1–2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen or bakery
Basic understanding of pastry terminology, techniques, and tools
Desire to learn and improve under supervision of senior pastry staff
Punctual, organized, and committed to sanitation and quality standards
SKILLS
Basic to intermediate knowledge of pastry production methods
Eagerness to learn and adapt under direction
Consistent execution and follow-through on prep and plating tasks
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
Reliable, punctual, and detail-conscious
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
