Job Summary - We are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to work the at Littleton’s Market Bakery, located in the historic North Market. The ideal candidate will have at least six months of experience in a professional baking role (commercial experience preferred). The Pastry Cook will be an essential part of the bakery team and must be comfortable working with others in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

· Production & Baking: Preparing and baking cakes, cookies, pastries, tarts, and breads based on established recipes

· Plating & Decoration: Creating, assembling, and decorating desserts, including icing, sugar work, and plating for service

· Inventory & Sanitation: Maintaining inventory of ingredients, restocking, and adhering to strict sanitation and health regulations

· Quality Control: Ensuring all products meet quality and consistency standards, measuring ingredients carefully, often using weight for accuracy

· Kitchen Collaboration: Assisting pastry chefs and working with other kitchen staff to coordinate dessert service

· Any other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Must have ability to operate industrial machinery and understand, or willingness to learn, industrial mixing techniques

Must have strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry, and dessert creation.

Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull 50 pounds

Must be able to lift, bend, crouch, etc.

Must be able to follow written instructions and read complex recipes

Must have exceptional attention to detail regarding timing and temperature

Ability to withstand extreme temperatures for short periods of time

Must be able to stand continuously for 8-10 hours

Must be able to work effectively in a team setting
