REQUIREMENTS

Seeking a chemistry-focused patent agent or technical specialist with institutional or law firm experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in drafting patent applications—particularly in the area of small-molecule therapeutics—and possess a solid understanding of the statutory criteria for patentability and USPTO rules of practice and procedure.

A Ph.D. in organic chemistry is preferred; candidates should exhibit strong intellectual curiosity and present excellent academic credentials. Exceptional organizational and writing skills are required, as is a desire to excel in a large law firm environment. This is a client-facing role that involves direct interaction with inventors and scientists; accordingly, outstanding oral communication skills are essential.

For the patent agent role, active registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Bar) is required. Familiarity with patent databases and search tools, experience managing patent portfolios, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.
