Gaining increasing responsibility for client matters as experience and skills develop.
Kim IP represents clients across a wide range of technologies and industries. The position therefore provides an opportunity to develop experience with diverse mechanical and electromechanical technologies while building the technical, legal, and client-management skills necessary for a successful patent practice.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
A J.D. from an accredited law school;
A bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline;

Admission to the New Jersey Bar, eligibility for admission, or willingness to obtain admission;
Strong academic credentials;
Excellent analytical, technical writing, and communication skills;
The ability to understand and explain complex technologies;
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; and
The ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned matters.
Prior engineering or other relevant technical industry experience is a plus. Prior patent prosecution experience, including law firm, corporate, internship, clerkship, or law school experience, is also a plus but is not required.
