  • Responsibilities

    Role

    As a Diesel Equipment Mechanic (also known as Heavy Duty Mechanic, Reefer Mechanic), you'll troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, and replace parts on diesel equipment. You'll perform preventative maintenance, handle road service calls, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. You'll also be responsible for inventory management, recordkeeping, and providing backup to other maintenance shop personnel.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or 2 years of experience with Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification.
    • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations, read and understand technical and service manuals, and manage multiple functions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills and basic computer skills.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and overtime when needed.
