    Path Engineering LLC (a staffing agency with years of experience helping companies with high-volume hiring needs) is posting this job on behalf of BWXT.

    Set-up and operate ID and OD universal and conventional and CNC surface grinding equipment to generate finish dimensions on a variety of complex production and tooling parts. Assist other operators on proper operational procedures. Perform housekeeping and other job related duties as assigned by foreman.

    Responsibilities:

    • Read and interpret complex blueprints to determine locations, sizes and finish.

    • Utilize G & M codes to develop NC programs during set-ups.

    • Apply expert knowledge of precision grinding practices to grind internal, external, straight form and tapered surfaces to extremely close tolerances and high degree of finish.

    • Exercise a high degree of attentivenessto devise set-up, dress correct forms and angles into wheels and to complete work details to tool design specifications.

    • Set-up and operate universal and surface grinders to perform difficult, close tolerance, semi-finish and finish grinding operations on a variety of production hardware, tools, jogs, fixtures, gages, and forming-die parts.

    • Select, install, and dress wheels and complete all set-up changes with minimal blueprints and the use of mathematical calculations.

    • Use special and improvised work holding devices, indicators, and other measuring devices to obtain correct alignment and concentricity for irregularly shaped parts.

    • Use various types of precision measuring devices including comparators and electronic gages to inspect work.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalency.

    • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in set-up and operation of CNC universal grinders and manual grinders.

    • Availability to work second shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm or third shift: 11:00pm- 7:00am as assigned after 6 month training.

    • Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints and geometric tolerancing.

    • Demonstrated CNC control abilities; including editing speeds, feeds, tool offsets and fixture offsets on various CNC grinding equipment.

    • Experience and high level ability to use multi axis grinding, contouring, grinding wheel dressing, grit and size selection, to ensure that tight tolerances meet blueprints.

    • Capable of being able to develop NC programs during set-ups utilizing G & M codes.

    • Demonstrate CNC abilities on a test piece during interview process, if requested.

    • Proven experience using dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, verniers, and .0001 micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

    • Possess skills necessary to follow complicated procedures and document accordingly.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk to hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
