Health Services Coordinator
The Health Services Coordinator provides and oversees health services for client groups, assists with the development of health-, safety-, and wellness-related program and policy, and assists with other program administration as needed. The major responsibilities of the Health Services Coordinator include but are not limited to:
Evaluate health center operations as well as health, safety, and wellness policies and procedures, resources, and personnel on an ongoing basis
Provide feedback to the Program Manager for potential changes to manuals and staff trainings as needed
Create a medical supply budget, maintain/organize the supplies, and submit supply requests to the Program Manager as needed
Assist in planning staff training and in-services, and provide training on health, safety, wellness, and risk assessment policies and procedures
Participate in weekly program meetings to communicate medical-related updates
Aid in creating and enforcing risk management procedures
Conduct monthly program area safety inspections
Inspect medical facilities and equipment for functionality and safety
Provide medical care to clients and Ranch employees as needed
Serve as the medical liaison between Pathfinder Ranch and clients
Maintain accurate records and logs
Assist in orientation, evaluation, scheduling, and supervision of employees
Ensure the security and safety of camp facilities, grounds, and equipment
Coordinate with other department employees and coordinators as needed
Disseminate all pertinent information to assigned employees
Communicate with the Program Manager all pertinent information in a timely manner
Make public presentations and attend special events on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch
Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies, and accreditation standards
Perform assigned role(s) in the Emergency Action Plan
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
18 years old or older
Ability to work cooperatively on diverse teams and with a variety of clients
Ability to give, accept, and integrate feedback graciously
Willing and able to complete tasks both independently and collaboratively in a timely and accurate manner
Hold and maintain current certification in C-PRO, Lifeguard, Wilderness First Responder OR higher medical certification, AND have completed an approved pediatric preventative health practices course (View a list of CA approved course providers here).
Skilled at interpersonal communication in a variety of formats
Proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software
Able to supervise staff in a supportive and responsive manner that cultivates a positive work community
Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and/or overtime
Demonstrate ability to respond calmly and effectively in stressful situations
Have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
All employees must successfully pass a background check including fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications
Lifeguard Instructor certification from a nationally recognized provider
Pediatric and Adult First Aid, CPR, & AED Instructor from a nationally recognized provider
Experience providing 1-on-1 care for children in a work setting
Experience in a supervisory role
Previous work experience within a youth-serving or recreational organization
Bilingual or multilingual
Physical Requirements

Complete a full work day
Perform work at varying levels
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Traverse several miles a day on a steep and uneven terrain
Perform duties while outdoors and exposed to a variety of weather conditions
Work at heights of up to 50’ above the ground
Operate equipment requiring repetitive motion, such as keyboards and safety equipment.
Schedule:
This is a full-time hourly, year-round position. Weekly and daily schedules may vary depending on programs in session and may include weekends, early mornings, holidays, and/or overtime.
Compensation:
Starts at $15-16.50 / hour, depending on experience
