  • Responsibilities

    Program Coordinator

    The Program Coordinator works across Outdoor Education, Summer Camp, and Weekend Retreat programs to coordinate with clients, supervise personnel, and oversee assigned areas of responsibility. The major responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include but are not limited to:

    Create and coordinate program schedules and activities for Outdoor Education, Weekend Retreats, and Summer Camp, as assigned

    Serve as the liaison between Pathfinder Ranch and client groups and provide excellent customer service, including some program instruction when needed

    Evaluate programs, resources, and personnel on an ongoing basis

    Update program curriculum and staff training to ensure programs remain up to date

    Maintain accurate program records and logs

    Inventory and inspect program equipment and areas; order equipment and supplies as needed

    Assist in orientation, evaluation, scheduling, and supervision of employees

    Ensure the security and safety of camp facilities, grounds, and equipment

    Coordinate with other department employees and coordinators as needed

    Disseminate all pertinent information to assigned employees

    Communicate with the Program Manager all pertinent information in a timely manner

    Make public presentations and attend special events on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch

    Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies, and accreditation standards

    Care for all Nature Center animals, including (but not limited to): feeding, cleaning enclosures, saddling and administration of medical treatments

    Assist in equine area as additional support as needed

    Perform assigned role(s) in the Emergency Action Plan

    Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

    18 years old or older

    Ability to work cooperatively on diverse teams and with a variety of clients

    Ability to give, accept, and integrate feedback graciously

    Ability to supervise staff in a supportive and responsive manner that cultivates a positive work community

    Willing and able to complete tasks both independently and collaboratively in a timely and accurate manner

    Proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software

    Skilled at interpersonal communication in a variety of formats

    Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and/or overtime

    Hold or acquire current pediatric and adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications from a nationally recognized provider

    Demonstrate ability to respond calmly and effectively in stressful situations

    Have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle

    All employees must successfully pass a background check including fingerprinting

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in a supervisory role

    Previous work experience within a youth-serving or recreational organization

    Bilingual or multilingual

    Level 1 or higher Archery Instructor

    and/or

    Lifeguard or Waterfront Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized provider

    and/or

    Climbing Wall Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized provider and/or ACCT certification, or equivalent experience

    Physical RequirementsWith reasonable accommodations, sufficient physical ability and mobility to:

    Complete a full work day

    Perform work at varying levels

    Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    Traverse several miles a day on a steep and uneven terrain

    Perform duties while outdoors and exposed to a variety of weather conditions

    Work at heights of up to 50’ above the ground

    Work in dusty environments around a variety of animals

    Operate equipment requiring repetitive motion, such as keyboards and safety equipment.

    Schedule: This is a full-time hourly, year-round position. Weekly and daily schedules may vary depending on programs in session and may include weekends, early mornings, holidays, and/or overtime.Expected Start Date: April 19

    Compensation: Starts at $15-16.50 / hour, depending on experienceBenefits:
