Job Description
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Director performs the operational management of all programs. The major responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
Build and maintain a consistent client base for all Pathfinder Ranch programs.
Personnel recruitment, selection, orientation, evaluation, scheduling and management
Maintain accurate program records and logs
Continual evaluation of programs and resources
Aid in creating and maintain budgets
Ensure the security and safety of camp grounds, facilities, and program equipment associated with programs
Create and coordinate daily and seasonal program schedules
Coordinate with other departments in program planning
Develop and coordinate new programs and special events
Disseminate all pertinent information to department employees
Ongoing communication with the Executive Director for policy and standards direction, departmental development and relevant business
Inventory and order equipment as needed
Participate in development committee meetings
Provide positive public relations on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch and serve as the liaison between the Ranch and client groups
Make public presentations and attend special events on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch
Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies and accreditation standards
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Exhibit the ability to work well within the Pathfinder Ranch organization and with other employees
Must be self-motivated and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Previous work experience within an organized camp, outdoor education program or similar setting
Extensive knowledge and experience in program management, including: outdoor education, summer camp, and rentals
Must be proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software
Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
Able to effectively supervise staff
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Hold and maintain current child and adult First Aid, CPR and AED certifications from a nationally recognized provider
Comply with all safety policies and procedures
Physical Requirements
Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 30 pounds of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
