    Job Responsibilities

    • Holds accountability of the entire Trauma Program and Trauma Registry. The Trauma Program Manager for HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland will be
    • Responsible for building and managing a program that meets the requirements of trauma-specific regulatory bodies for Level IV Trauma Center designation through: clinical activities, professional and public education; research activities; quality improvement activities
    • Oversees the trauma registry; and administrative functions
    • Acts a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to the trauma patients.
    • Manages care by maintain effective lines of communication with all concerned parties.
    • Increases community support and recognition of HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland as a community leader in trauma care.
    • Responsible for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment on the unit, and for promoting team work with physicians and personnel of other departments.
    • Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education
    • Delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.
    • Responsible for the management of the Trauma Service program which includes maintenance of the Trauma Registry in accordance with all federal, state, and local guidelines

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN required
    • Current Licensed as an RN in the State of Texas.
    • Current BLS and ACLS – American Heart Association PALS, TNCC, ENPC, TOPIC, AAAM Registry (if entering into the registry) are required and must be obtained within the first year of employment Some of these certifications may be satisfied by other approved, equivalent courses.
    • A minimum of 2 years acute care experience, 1 year in an Emergency Care setting is preferred.
    • Experience as a TPM is preferred
    • Background in accredited and/or designated program management and/or Performance Improvement highly desired.
