    ROLE BRIEF:

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Product Officer/Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPO/CPTO) is responsible for understanding market demands, technology trends, and the competitive Education Technology (EdTech) field. The successful candidate will leverage these insights to lead and scale our product development through an unprecedented period of innovation and change. Our primary objective is to bring on a product leader. However, candidates with a technical background in addition to product expertise may be considered for a CPTO role.

    The CPO/CPTO will lead a company wide effort to build the most comprehensive college and career readiness platforms in the ed-tech market. As the newest member of a progressive and results oriented executive team, the CPO/CPTO will reimagine, champion and drive every aspect of product life cycle management to address market and user requirements. This leader will drive and facilitate rapid product development and implementation of new products and enhancements. The CPO/CPTO will be responsible for ensuring the strategic product roadmap, product development, and product launches.

    Over the past year, two teams from two different companies have come together and are now in the process of becoming one Product and Technology team at Pathful. Pathful's product department consists of our content team, industry team, product managers and engineering. The CPO/CPTO will need deep experience in leading and developing employees at various levels of experience and varying job functions. Managing employees through change will be critical.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead our Product, Content, and industry partnerships teams in the creation of strategic product objectives to increase new user adoption, drive user engagement, recapture value and acquire new customers;
    • Define measurable and actionable “key results” for the stated objectives - metrics or other KPIs to track progress and know when an objective is complete;
    • Act as a close, strategic thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer for defining and ensuring alignment with the vision of the future of our suite of products;
    • Drive for results through the creation of predefined intervals to evaluate performance against new objectives and define key results for the coming cycle;
    • Provide strategic, data-driven insights to the executive team around adoption and usage of our products;
    • Lead the creation of a highly skilled, progressive internal Product team in line with the strategic growth objectives of the company;
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to drive the development and delivery of sales training, sales collateral, product collateral, and other product assets;
    • Build the product narrative and image through analyst meetings and other external engagements;
    • Provide input into our technical architecture and product design to transform customer and prospect needs into implementation plans;
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing and own product adoption and revenue;
    • Additional responsibilities for a CPTO will be discussed with relevant candidates

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work closely with various teams throughout organization, including some experience sitting on or reporting to leadership teams;
    • High growth experience that included phases of frequent change management.
    • High EQ in order to support and build relationships with employees, reduce team stress, defuse conflict, coach and motivate employees and create a culture of collaboration.
    • 15+ years of experience in technical or product leadership roles;
    • Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience required;
    • Problem Solving/Analysis and Strategic Thinking;
    • Proven experience in a product leadership role in a cloud/SaaS/AI/Edtech environment.
    • Passionate about improving education
