About Your Role... Pathways is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Accounting and Finance Team as a Financial Advisor. The Financial Analyst will perform financial and business-related research and analytics such as the preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of financial reports, records, and trends; develop and maintain month, quarter, and yearly financial reporting as well as spreadsheets and databases to facilitate analysis and reporting; and is responsible for conducting and documenting financial analysis projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile and analyze financial and clinical information to assist in operations and reconciliation, including but not limited to, analysis and reconciliation of enrollment, state & member funding, claims payments, and other key data points
Prepare integrated financial analysis and reports to management on a timely and accurate basis, including trend identification
Conduct financial and business-related analyses and research including the preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of trends
Prepare with operations and financial leadership standardized monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles around budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions
Communicate with other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems
Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts
Advise management of expected outcomes, and recommend ways to improve the outcomes
Analyze, evaluate, and interpret appropriate financial, clinical, and statistical data.
Develop and/or document business policies
Conduct special financial and business-related studies
Cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses
Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases
Utilize PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software, compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts of data developed
Participate in financial analysis projects including the preparation of ad hoc reports; including but not limited to; the gathering of data, analysis, documentation of findings, calculation of results, and generation of reports for distribution
Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
1+ years' experience in Accounting, and/or Finance, OR
1+ years' experience in Analytics with SQL and/or SAS experience
Experience with MS Excel and/or MS Access
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting findings and offering recommendations to senior management.
Advanced Degree (MBA or similar) preferred
Strong understanding of health care data including claims, encounters, membership etc. preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team
