Pathways is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Accounting and Finance Team as a Senior Financial Analytics Specialist. The Senior Financial Analytics Specialist will perform financial and business related research and analytics such as the preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of financial reports, records and trends; develops and maintains month, quarter, and yearly financial reporting as well as spreadsheets and databases to facilitate analysis and reporting; and is responsible for conducting and documenting financial analysis projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
3-5 years’ experience in Accounting, and/or Finance, OR
3-5 years’ experience in Analytics with SQL
Ability to develop queries and do maintenance on SQL queries
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Macros, and VBA
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting findings and offering recommendations to senior management.
Advanced Degree (MBA or similar) preferred
Strong understanding of health care data including claims, encounters, membership etc. preferred

Responsibilities:
Compile and analyze financial and clinical information to assist in operations and reconciliation, including but not limited to, analysis and reconciliation of enrollment, state & member funding, claims payments and other key data points
Prepare integrated financial analysis and reports to management on a timely and accurate basis, including trend identification
Conduct financial and business related analyses and research including the preparation of forecasts and/or analysis of trends
Prepare with operations and financial leadership standardized monthly, quarterly and annual cycles around budgeting, forecasting and reporting
Build and maintain revenue and expense models for company
Coordinate with other departments, locations, and divisions
Communicate with other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems
Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
Advise management of expected outcomes, and recommending ways to improve the outcomes
Conduct presentation to all levels of management in order to provide a summary of analysis regarding financial results and trends
Communicate with management as to project status and completion deadlines
Analyze, evaluate and interpret appropriate financial, clinical and statistical data.
Develop and/or document business policies
Conduct special financial and business related studies
Cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses
Provide reasoning for variances and make recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
Advise management of expected outcomes, and recommend ways to improve the outcomes.
Develop and maintains spreadsheets and databases
Utilize PC and/or mainframe based systems and software, compile and prepare reports, graphs and charts of data developed
Serve as a project lead for special projects within the department
Lead and document financial analysis projects including the preparation of ad hoc reports; to include but not limited to; gathering of data, analysis, documentation of findings, and calculation of results and generation of reports for distribution
Coordinate activities to ensure the project is advancing properly and to ensure the project is completed within the timeframes established
