    Pathways is seeking an innovative and purpose driven individual to join our team as a Health Educator Part Time (20 hours a week) at our Wellness Program in the city of Orange.

    SUMMARY OF PROGRAM

    The Wellness Center Central & South

    The Wellness Centers are nationally recognized programs that offers and array of groups, classes and resources to increase the wellness of the Orange County community through four key areas Physical, Emotional, Spiritual and Social/Community. The mission of the Wellness Centers are “To provide a safe and nurturing environment for each individual to achieve their own vision of recovery while promoting acceptance, dignity and social inclusion”. WCs are entirely peer run programs with each member of the staff having “lived experience” with their own recovery. Members of the Centers must be 18 years or older, reside in Orange County and are seeking Mental Health Services now or in the past. WCC offers 100 groups a week from Arts and Crafts to Yoga, positive thinking, DBSA, AA, Social Hour and a number of Community Integration groups. Bowling, nature hikes, walk about trips to museums, gardens are a few of the excursions offered at the Center.

    ABOUT YOUR ROLE

    Educates members on health issues, including nutrition, diet and exercise. Also, provides linkage to health related community resources, including smoking cessation programs. The Health Educator combines an understanding of wellness and overall health issues with knowledge to assist with linkage to appropriate services in the community.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    Provides linkage services for members with physical, dental or mental health care needs

    Under direction and supervision of the Team Lead, may provide health education and community linkage

    Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources to assist in linkage

    Develops and teaches Wellness related classes and groups

    Functions as a resource to members and community resources and staff

    Other duties as assigned or necessary to support your department and/or the company.

    Research and utilize our industry’s best practices and analyze our own services to ensure the best possible outcomes.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    One year acute care experience and community clinic experience preferred.

    Knowledge and experience working with the severely and persistently mentally ill population.

    Good organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbal required. Intermediate level PC skills required.
