    Looking to do meaningful work helping others in the community as a Respite Care Provider? Pathways of Idaho, a branch of Pathways, is one of the largest behavioral health providers in the US. We offer community based services to youth, adolescent and adults who live with persistent mental illness. Our team lives out their passion for helping the community and are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, and passionate Respite Care Provider to join us!

    About Your Role:The Respite Care Provider is responsible for maintaining functions within the scope of practice as established by OPTUM to provide mental health services (OPTUM’s guidelines, and regulations) to provide short-term/temporary care for youth w/SED provided in the least restrictive environment that provides relief for caretaker and is aimed at de-escalation of stressful situations. This position works under general supervision from detailed and written instructions. Expected pay rate for this position is $13.50 an hour.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Interfaces routinely with staff, Program Coordinator, Lead Supervisor, clinic staff, clients and other key personnel as identified essential to client care.

    Completes four (4) hours of continuing education annually from date of hire as required by OPTUM guidelines. Specific requirements as related to ethics training apply.

    Maintains confidentiality of all client documents, files and communication in written, electronic and/or verbal form.

    Assists in providing service delivery support. Typical duties may include, but not be limited to: interfacing with the service providers/clinic staff and other key personnel, screening potential clients/completing client intake tasks as per Pioneer Health Resources protocol, responsible for reading, understanding, and communicating clearly Pioneer’s policies and procedures, collaboration with clients/providers regarding on-going service delivery and reviewing weekly provider billing.

    Safety: help youth stay safe during emergencies, recognize signs of abuse, neglect or exploitation and know what to do. Respite care workers are required to have CPR and first aid training.

    Crisis Prevention and Intervention: identify risk for and behaviors that lead to crisis.

    Cultural Competency: Respect cultural differences and provide services and supports that fit with a youth and family’s cultural preferences.

    Communication: Build trust and productive relationships with the youth and families that you support, your coworkers, and others through respectful and clear verbal communication.

    Evaluation and Observation: Effectively monitor a youth’s physical and emotional health, gather information, and communicate observations to guide services.

    Professionalism and Ethics: Working in a professional and ethical manner, maintaining confidentiality while respecting youth rights, family rights, and cultural values.

    Monitors and audits services for compliance with OPTUM and Medicaid regulations. Typical duties may include, but not be limited to: ensuring completion of initial/annual assessments, service/treatment plans, required periodic reviews and termination summaries with respect to established time frames and other regulatory requirements.

    Must be in possession of a laptop, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), or other device that is capable of running Java/web based applications in order to document services with clients while working in the community.

    Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

    Decision-Making Responsibilities:

    Follow up on incoming referrals

    Remove clients from being tracked

    Determine when to close a referral

    Scheduling and transportation

    Check insurance eligibility

    Recovery Requirements:

    Ability to work with diverse population

    Responsible for timely completion of mandated paperwork and maintaining productivity standards

    Complete all required training

    Flexibility and ability to manage ever-changing priorities

    Conduct assessments, crisis intervention, individual and family services

    Maintain HIPAA, ethical standards and professional boundaries

    Open to professional growth

    Provide the best care possible

    Education, Certifications, and License Requirements:

    Must be at least 18 years of age

    High School diploma

    Complete e-training

    Experience with youth experiencing SED and their families

    First-Aid and CPR training

    Maintenance: monthly one-on-one supervision, additional group supervision recommended, feedback on performance, 4 hours of CEU related to respite and approved by supervisor.

    Must have current fingerprint clearance (and maintain during employment) and be able to pass the background check.

    Preferred degree in a behavioral health field. Must pass a criminal background check conducted by the DHW

    Valid Idaho driver license may be required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time

    Ability to perform basic word processing tasks and utilize proprietary software for the completion of tasks or has the ability to learn these skills.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret state regulations and corporate policies. Capacity to effectively present information and respond (in written and/or oral format) to questions from groups of managers, staff, clients and the public.

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

    Possess organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and be flexible

    Physical Aspects and Work Environment:

    Office Environment (not remote position). Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking;

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit.

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    The employee is frequently required to use hands/arms to reach and demonstrate; must have the ability to talk and hear.

    Requires significant use of computer, tablet, phone and/or general office equipment.

    Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

    Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.

    May require off-site travel up to 20% (local and out of state) - meeting, county and/or client needs.

    Will use personal car or vehicle as required for travel and/or transportation.
