    Expected pay range: $20/hour - Depends on Experience

    Does the Following Apply to You?

    EMT or LPN with current appropriate state licensure and must have experience working in a fast paced environment, and with clients who have experienced a behavioral health crisis.

    Proof of: valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance coverage as well as proof of education are required.

    Knowledge of working with the severely and chronically or severely mentally ill population preferred.

    Current state EMT or LPN registration.

    About your Role:

    Performs medical assessments on all admits to the crisis center to determine eligibility for entrance into crisis center.

    Formulates a goal directed plan of care for any minor medical issues, which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and client outcomes.

    Documents all client assessments, encounters, plan of care, and any updates within the WITS electronic health records system.

    Assists clients who check in to the crisis center with prescription medications, logs medications, and gives client reminders to take medications. Completes witnessed medication count upon admission and at discharge.

    Implements medical / physical care of clients.

    Establishes priorities of client care based on essential client needs and available resources of time, personnel, equipment and supplies.

    Communicates with client in an understandable manner.

    When necessary, provides in-service training to staff regarding medical and psychiatric nursing issues.

    Engages in team activities for the client and in order to meet client needs such as, but not limited to, completing team staffings after every client’s admission and at the start of every therapist’s shift, providing for client with regard to creating a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining a clean and positive environment (i.e. picking up after a client whom nursing staff puts in the shower, giving meals and cleaning up leftovers after the client eats, completing laundry and other chores).

    Serves as a resource to the Pathways Crisis Center team in incorporating recovery strategies and tools into client interactions, reinforcing an approach of client-self-determination in all aspects of service planning.

    Monitors client for safety such as checking on clients every minute when client is in the bathrooms, observing clients in the day and sleeping areas, talking with clients in between assessment and discharge, reassessing clients with medical needs for medical safety as necessary, prior to discharge.

    Notifies staff designated per shift/team responsible for inventory of any medical supply needs.

    Participate in any in-service training for team members.

    Completes other duties as assigned or necessary to support the program/ company.
