Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our plastic surgery team. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between the surgeon and patients, guiding them through consultations, surgical planning, scheduling, pre operative, and post-operative care. You will work collaboratively with patients to understand their goals, determine appropriate treatment plans, coordinate surgeries, and ensure each patient receives high-quality, individualized care.

Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring seamless coordination of medical services, appointments, and communication between patients and healthcare providers. This role supports clinical staff, enhances patient experience, and ensures continuity of care from initial consultation through recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Relations & Consultation Support
Greet and assist patients throughout their surgical journey
Educate patients about procedures, timelines, pre- and post-operative instructions
Answer questions regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Surgical Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule surgeries in coordination with staff, the surgeon, out patient surgery centers.
Manage the surgical calendar and confirm availability.
Coordinate pre-operative appointments, medical clearances, and required testing
Provide patients with surgery dates, financial details, and preparation instructions
Confirm post-operative appointments and follow-up care
Care Plan Oversight
Track treatment plans and ensure all documentation is completed accurately
Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the clinical team
Ensure informed consents, lab results, and medical clearances are obtained prior to surgery
Administrative & Financial Duties
Present treatment plans and surgical pricing
Collect deposits and process payments
Verify insurance coverage for medically necessary procedures
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Qualifications
High school diploma required or Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of experience in a medical office, surgical practice, or plastic surgery setting preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
Experience with EMR/EHR systems
