    Job Description

    Our company is looking for a Patient Collections Representative to add to our Billing Team! This position will be onsite for the first 30 days for training and then hybrid (Thursday + Friday in office at minimum).

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Locating and Contacting Debtors:

    • Identifying patients with outstanding balances of 60 days or more.
    • Contact each patient, via phone call, that has a 60-day statement, 90-day statement, or approaching collections.

    Negotiating Payment Arrangements:

    • Discussing payment plans, installments, and other options with patients to facilitate balance resolution/payment.

    Record Keeping:

    • Maintaining detailed records of all communications, payments, and other relevant information related to each account.

    Following Up on Delinquent Accounts:

    • Tracking accounts, following up on missed payments, and escalating issues as necessary.

    Providing Customer Service:

    • Addressing patient inquiries, resolving disputes, and ensuring a professional and courteous experience.

    Compliance:

    • Adhering to all relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection practices.

    Utilizing Technology:

    • Using software, databases, and other tools to manage accounts, track payments, and communicate with patients

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations and manage time effectively.
    • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.
    • Experience in customer service/patient collections is desired.
    • Ability to interpret EOBs to validate posting and outstanding patient balances.
    • Knowledge of insurance benefits (i.e., co-payment, deductible, co-insurance, maximum out-of-pocket, non-covered services, etc.).
