Optimum and Southwest Women's Oncology are seeking a dedicated and driven Patient Financial Advocate to join our high-performance team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    Who We Are

Optimum and Southwest Women's Oncology are two sides of the same coin, precision performance and profound compassion.

At Optimum, we help people become the best versions of themselves, combining cutting-edge medical science, biohacking, aesthetics, and human potential into a single ecosystem of vitality. At SWWO, we help women triumph over gynecologic illness through skill, courage, and heart. Together, we're building something rare: a culture where clinical excellence meets human flourishing — where our team thrives as much as our patients and clients do.

    Who You Are

You're calm under pressure and clear in the details. You know how to guide people through complex, often emotional financial conversations with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.

You're not here to “just explain a bill.” You're here to protect patients from surprise and confusion, and protect the practice through proactive revenue integrity and airtight compliance.

You have the revenue cycle instincts to spot risk early, the communication skills to educate with compassion, and the follow-through to secure real financial support for patients when it matters most.

    What You'll Do

Protect Patients With Clarity + Compliance

    • Review patient accounts and insurance coverage prior to treatment to identify financial risk and outstanding balances.
    • Generate and review Good Faith Estimates (GFEs) in compliance with the No Surprises Act and applicable federal regulations prior to initiation of services.
    • Provide accurate cost estimations for chemotherapy, infusion therapy, and surgical procedures.
    • Educate patients regarding insurance benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibility.

    Secure Revenue With Integrity

    • Facilitate point-of-service collections and establish structured payment arrangements when appropriate.
    • Establish payment plans.

    Proactively Unlock Financial Assistance

    • Proactively secure financial assistance on behalf of patients, including:
    • Manufacturer copay assistance programs
    • Drug replacement programs
    • Foundation grants
    • Charitable funding resources
    • Assist patients in completing required applications and gathering supporting documentation.
    • Monitor and manage awarded assistance funds, ensuring proper allocation to patient accounts.

    Collaborate Across the Practice

    • Collaborate with billing, clinical, and front office teams to ensure accurate financial workflows and documentation.
    • Serve as a patient-centered resource for financial navigation throughout the course of treatment.

    Hold the Line on Trust

    • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and all federal and state compliance requirements.

    What You Bring

    • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare financial counseling.
    • Strong understanding of insurance benefits, EOB interpretation, and patient responsibility calculations.
    • Working knowledge of the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimate requirements.
    • Experience with oncology or infusion billing strongly preferred.
    • Experience securing copay assistance, manufacturer drug replacement, and foundation funding highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to discuss sensitive financial matters with empathy and confidence.
    • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    The Optimum/SWWO Culture

We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply.
We don't reward activity; we reward impact.
We hire individuals who can self-manage, over-deliver, and elevate the people around them.
We believe kindness and accountability are not opposites — they're inseparable.

If you crave comfort, this isn't it.
If you crave mastery, meaning, and measurable impact — welcome home.

    Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary, leadership bonuses, health & wellness coverage, and a 401(k) — but more importantly, the chance to build a legacy.

Note: This is an full-time in-office position at our Albuquerque New Mexico office.
