    Job Title: Patient Representative Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Location: The Surgery Center of Fairbanks

    We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our fast-paced, team-centered ambulatory surgery center. We offer training and support to help you succeed in a role that directly impacts patient care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Scheduling & Insurance

    Schedule surgeries and pre-op visits

    Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations

    Financial Counseling & Admitting

    Review estimated costs and insurance coverage with patients

    Set up payment plans and collect co-pays/deductibles

    Confirm insurance/demographic info on surgery day

    Obtain necessary forms and patient signatures

    Reception & Front Desk

    Answer and route phone calls

    Greet patients, provide paperwork, and notify staff

    Monitor visitors and vendor sign-ins per HIPAA

    Prepare and assemble charts and scan records

    Qualifications:

    Friendly, team-oriented, and professional demeanor

    Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills

    Comfortable in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

    Ability to promote a positive facility image to patients and the public

    Education & Skills:

    High school diploma or GED

    Basic office or administrative training preferred

    Good computer and typing skills

    Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability

    Preferred:

    Experience in patient financial counseling or ambulatory surgery centers (ASC)

    Physical Requirements:

    Able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods

    Must have good hearing and vision for phone and computer use

    Frequent Contacts With: Patients, families, physicians, insurers, vendors, and clinical staff
