If you've worked in a busy outpatient clinic, you know the pressure.
Phones ringing nonstop.
Patients at the window.
Copay conversations.
Testing logistics.
Constant interruptions.
This role is different.
No inbound phone line to manage.
No copay collection.
No testing coordination.
No in-person check-ins.
Just focused follow-up scheduling in a structured, task-driven virtual workflow.
For the right person, this kind of structured, virtual scheduling role can feel like a breath of fresh air.
You'll support follow-up cardiology appointments generated directly from NP task lists — running eligibility, ensuring referrals are secured, managing reminders, and protecting provider schedules.
Work EMR-generated follow-up tasks (ex: return to clinic)
Schedule follow-up appointments only
Run insurance eligibility and confirm active coverage
Ensure referrals are secured and documented
Assist with prior authorization coordination
Manage reminder system to reduce no-shows
Refill cancelled appointments quickly
Respond to administrative message pools
Print, fax, and mail patient letters or summaries
You are expected to proactively manage the follow-up schedule, not just book appointments.
This role is ideal for experienced outpatient or specialty clinic schedulers who are comfortable:
Managing provider calendars
Running insurance eligibility
Coordinating referrals
Supporting prior authorization processes
Working independently from structured task lists
Cardiology experience is a plus — not required.
Strong specialty clinic backgrounds such as GI, orthopedics, pulmonary, oncology, urology, or internal medicine transition well.
If you're ready to move into a focused, specialty scheduling role with real ownership, this is a strong next step.
You'll do well in this role if you:
Have strong insurance and referral knowledge
Communicate clearly and confidently
Enjoy helping patients feel taken care of, even virtually
Stay organized and task-driven
Move quickly when schedules change
Take ownership without needing constant direction
This team values accuracy, independence, and minimal ramp-up.
